The Gauteng Department of e-Government is urging learners who took their matric exams last year to utilize the Matric Results Online System to access their results.

The release of the matric results for the National Senior Certificate exams is expected to take place on Friday, January 19th, with the ministerial announcement scheduled for Thursday, January 18th.

Mzi Khumalo, the Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, e-Government, Research and Development, emphasized the system's ability to empower learners.

"The Matric Results Online System demonstrates our dedication to harnessing the power of technology to enhance our education system. We firmly believe that technology not only facilitates access to information but also empowers learners to make informed decisions about their educational success.

"This initiative aligns with our broader vision of creating a transparent and accessible education system. By providing instant access to matriculation results, we foster a culture of openness and accountability within the education sector," stated Khumalo.

According to the department, the digital platform offers "convenient access to matriculation examination results for learners, parents, and educators."

To access the platform, individuals can visit https://results.gauteng.gov.za/.

"The Matric Results Online System is a user-friendly platform that enables learners to conveniently access their matric results using their smartphones or other digital devices as soon as the results are released.

"It is a secure platform and also provides valuable data analytics, allowing learners to track their performance trends across multiple examinations.

"Parents and guardians can also use the app to access their children's results, promoting a collaborative and supportive approach to education. Additionally, educators can utilize the platform to gain valuable insights into their students' performance, enabling them to tailor teaching strategies to address specific needs," explained the department.
